It is an on going problem here in California most door manufactures are making their doors with little to know gaps on the inside panel. This gap is necessary because it allows the the floating panel to move as the wood expands and contrast due to heat and moisture levels. I the gap is sealed in with paint then as the panel ties to move it will inevitably cause the paint to crack and delaminate issues will occur. Especially if hard finishes are used such as conversion varnish.
I would like to know if other states of experiencing these issues and have they found solutions to over come them.
